4-Year Old Boy Left On Robbinsdale School Bus For 2 Hours

From the St. Paul Pioneer Press:

A 4-year-old boy who was supposed to be dropped off at a YMCA day care Thursday was accidentally left on a school bus for more than two hours before he was discovered.

The boy was to be dropped off about 3:30 p.m. at the day care center in Crystal by a Robbinsdale school district bus, KSTP-TV said in a report.

The bus driver forgot about the boy after another child on the bus needed to use the bathroom, and detoured from the normal route, the report said.

The boy was reported missing after the YMCA called the bus dispatcher about 6 p.m. to say the boy was never dropped off.

Officials searched the bus garage in New Hope and found the boy still in his car seat on the bus. The boy was not hurt, the report said.

The bus driver involved in the incident is on paid administrative leave. His name has not been released, according to the report.
