Monday, Dec. 7: A “Truth in Taxation” hearing will be held at the ESC on 4148 Winnetka Avenue at 7:00 pm. It’s your chance to ask questions to the Board – such as “Why aren’t you selling unused properties?” or “Whatever happened to the Divestiture Committee?” The school board meeting follows at 8:00pm (see schedule)
Monday, Dec. 14: Work session at the ESC on 4148 Winnetka Avenue at 5:30 pm. There is a planned discussion on northeast school buildings and use of current excess buildings. Bring your neighbors and hold their feet to the fire. Suggest that they sell off unused property! But leave the pitchforks home.

Supt Sicoli has some good points regarding delaying divestiture. Unfortunate that these were not resolved already.
I just think RAS should stop insisting the Facility Plan is complete. Until it is actually complete…. This mis-statement is hard on their credibility. (ie we’re done, but… we aren’t done…)
At least they cut operating expenses for this year by reducing the number of sites that needed to be staffed. I’ll definitely give them credit for that.

I was at last nights RAS – Facility Advisory Committee meeting. Gary went over his Dec. 7TH presentation for the committee. He probably will be changing the last page to show a 10% decrease in value rather than the 10% increase in value.
I strongly encourage everyone that can attend these two meetings to show up. The RAS Board needs to near in person the communities opinions. If you can’t make the meetings then email or call each Board member and tell them your opinion on these matters. KEEP engaged.
